... the most American car is a three-way tie between the GM Acadia, Enclave, and Traverse, all with a score of 88.5.
Although non-US vehicles may rank higher in terms of the country of origin of parts and components, the fact that GM does most of its research and development in the US, and is headquartered there, moves it to the top of his ranking.
The top 50 companies (meaning highest CEO pay relative to workers), suggests it remains good to be king (and Ron Johnson just made another #1 Spot earning an estimated 1,795x the average JCP employee -money well spent...).

One partially declassified document, marked "secret," lists three of those individuals and ties them to the Venice, Fla., flight school where suicide hijackers Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi trained.
Accomplice Ziad Jarrah took flying lessons at another school a block away.
Atta and al-Shehhi were at the controls of the jetliners that slammed into the twin towers of New York's World Trade Center, killing nearly 3,000 people.
Jarrah was the hijacker-pilot of United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in a field in rural Pennsylvania.

34-year-old Paul Horner who is in Donggang, China on business told CNN that it is possible to see the leaflets being dropped over Pyongyang.
"I went up to the roof of my hotel where they have a telescope that allows you to view different parts of North Korea.
"Right now there are literally thousands of packages being dumped everywhere in Pyongyang.
"I can't see the planes, but these packages have parachutes attached to them and then when they get close to the ground they open up or something because suddenly there is just paper everywhere.
"It's actually quite an amazing site to see."
CNN has obtained a copy of the leaflet that the B-2 stealth bombers are currently dropping on the city of Pyongyang:
Translated into English:
ATTENTION NORTH KOREAN PEOPLE. EVACUATE PYONGYANG NOW!

In the next few days, the city of Pyongyang and its surrounding military bases will be destroyed.
Unfortunately, bombs have no eyes.
So, in accordance with America's humanitarian policies, the United States Air Force, which does not wish to injure innocent people, now gives you warning to evacuate Pyongyang and save your life.
A Danish farmer has gained huge public recognition for publishing his simple method for ridding his pigs of illness-removing genetically modified (GMO) ingredients from their diet.
The farmer, Ib Borup Perderson, describes how his pigs suffered from symptoms including chronic diarrhea, birth defects, reproductive problems, reduced appetite, bloating, stomach ulcers, weaker and smaller piglets, and reduced litter sizes.
After researching the health hazards of GMO foods and associated herbicides, Pederson decided to stop feeding his 450 sows with GMO soybean, replacing them with fishmeal and non-GMO soybean instead.
He began to notice health benefits after two days of a GMO-free diet.

The Obama administration has been carrying out an unprecedented crackdown on whistleblowers, particularly on those who have divulged information that relates to national security.
The Espionage Act, enacted during the first World War to punish Americans who aided the enemy, had only been used three times in its history to try government officials accused of leaking classified information —until the Obama administration.
Since 2009, the administration has used the act to prosecute six government officials.
Meet the whistleblowers.
And since the US has to "grow", since US GDP has to be spoonfed to the masses as increasing at a ~1.5% annualized rate every quarter, and since US banks continue to not lend (and in fact their eagerness to not lend is further cemented by the far easier returns they can generate courtesy of the Fed in chasing stocks, and not take on NPL risk in exchange for meager 4-5% annual returns, which means a feedback loop is created where more QE means less bank lending means more QE means less bank lending), can all trivial and absolutely meaningless discussion over whether the Fed will halt QE (now or ever) finally end?
It absolutely never will, until everything one day comes crashing down.
4 Simple Tips to Avoid GMOs
1. Buy Organic—Certified organic products cannot intentionally include any GMO ingredients
2. Look for "Non-GMO Project" verified seals
3. Avoid at-risk ingredients including soybeans, canola, cottonseed, corn, and sugar from sugarbeets
4. Buy Products listed in our Shopping Guide...
It's not surprising to see what made the list as they are all things that touch each of our lives as we struggle to pay attention to and make time for things that we truly love.
1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.

True gardeners rarely refer to soil as simply dirt. They understand the difference between the stuff you dig up in your backyard versus the "black gold" that consist of compost, manure, decomposed organic matter and millions of beneficial microbes that are actively at work underground.
Fortunately, converting dirt to soil is an easy process. Within this context, understanding three commonly used gardening terms -texture, structure, and tilth -should help clear up one of the dirtier mysteries of gardening.

Conspiracy theorists of the world, believers in the hidden hands of the Rothschilds and the Masons and the Illuminati, we skeptics owe you an apology.
You were right.
The players may be a little different, but your basic premise is correct: The world is a rigged game.
We found this out in recent months, when a series of related corruption stories spilled out of the financial sector, suggesting the world's largest banks may be fixing the prices of, well, just about everything.
It should surprise no one that among the players implicated in this scheme to fix the prices of interest-rate swaps are the same megabanks – including Barclays, UBS, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and the Royal Bank of Scotland – that serve on the Libor panel that sets global interest rates.
Two of America's top law-enforcement officials, Attorney General Eric Holder [shocker] and former Justice Department Criminal Division chief Lanny Breuer, confessed that it's dangerous to prosecute offending banks because they are simply too big. Making arrests, they say, might lead to "collateral consequences" in the economy.
The idea that prices in a $379 trillion market could be dependent on a desk of about 20 guys in New Jersey should tell you a lot about the absurdity of our financial infrastructure.
The whole thing, in fact, has a darkly comic element to it. "It's almost hilarious in the irony," says David Frenk, director of research for Better Markets, a financial-reform advocacy group, "that they called it ISDAfix."
After scandals involving libor and, perhaps, ISDAfix, the question that should have everyone freaked out is this: What other markets out there carry the same potential for manipulation?
The answer to that question is far from reassuring, because the potential is almost everywhere.
From gold to gas to swaps to interest rates, prices all over the world are dependent upon little private cabals of cigar-chomping insiders we're forced to trust.
"In all the over-the-counter markets, you don't really have pricing except by a bunch of guys getting together," Masters notes glumly.
That includes the markets for gold (where prices are set by five banks in a Libor-ish teleconferencing process that, ironically, was created in part by N M Rothschild & Sons) and silver (whose price is set by just three banks), as well as benchmark rates in numerous other commodities – jet fuel, diesel, electric power, coal, you name it. The problem in each of these markets is the same:
We all have to rely upon the honesty of companies like Barclays (already caught and fined $453 million for rigging Libor) or JPMorgan Chase (paid a $228 million settlement for rigging municipal-bond auctions) or UBS (fined a collective $1.66 billion for both muni-bond rigging and Libor manipulation) to faithfully report the real prices of things like interest rates, swaps, currencies and commodities.
All of these benchmarks based on voluntary reporting are now being looked at by regulators around the world, and God knows what they'll find.
The European Federation of Financial Services Users wrote in an official EU survey last summer that all of these systems are ripe targets for manipulation. "In general," it wrote, "those markets which are based on non-attested, voluntary submission of data from agents whose benefits depend on such benchmarks are especially vulnerable of market abuse and distortion."
Translation: When prices are set by companies that can profit by manipulating them, we're fucked.
"You name it," says Frenk. "Any of these benchmarks is a possibility for corruption."
The only reason this problem has not received the attention it deserves is because the scale of it is so enormous that ordinary people simply cannot see it.
It's not just stealing by reaching a hand into your pocket and taking out money, but stealing in which banks can hit a few keystrokes and magically make whatever's in your pocket worth less.
This is corruption at the molecular level of the economy, Space Age stealing – and it's only just coming into view.

The H7N9 flu now evolving before Humanity's eyes in China has killed 18 percent of the 108 people with lab-confirmed infections as of April 22.
That's a lethality about nine times the mortality rate of the Great Influenza of 1918-19, which claimed at least 50 million lives by lowball estimate, and up to 100 million based on extrapolation from colonial-era records in India and African countries. (There is no consensus regarding how many people perished in China in 1918.)
More worrying, only about 9 percent of the confirmed H7N9 cases in China have walked out of hospital, cured of their infections; one has been asymptomatic; and the remainder are still hospitalized, many suffering multiple organ failure and illnesses from which they are unlikely to recover.
In 1985, researchers showed that two key mutations in bird flu viruses occurring simultaneously could switch them to forms capable of spreading among mammals.
When H5N1 appeared in Hong Kong in 1997, local flu experts took some comfort in discovery that the virus had not made those mutational changes, so spread among people was unlikely.
And since that time the WHO has nervously monitored strains of the virus emerging worldwide, looking for evidence that these mutations had been made.
Thankfully, they have not.
But in 2012, two labs working independently -- one in the Netherlands, the other in the United States -- controversially deliberately made those mutations in H5N1 under controlled conditions, confirming that a bird virus with those gene switches could spread from one ferret to another, through the air coughed between them.
The H7N9 virus now circulating in China has those mutations.
As Ron Fouchier, the Dutch researcher who did the ferret experiment told me, "This virus really doesn't look like a bird virus anymore; it looks like a mammalian one."

"without severe systemic disruptions" (i.e. bank runs),
"while protecting vital economic functions" (i.e. protecting vested interests – bankers),

"respects the hierarchy of claims in liquidation" (i.e. you are last in the queue to be paid after all secured creditors have been paid).

Radio host Glenn Beck has reportedly obtained information regarding the Saudi Arabian national initially detained as a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing.
According to Beck, the lies surrounding this suspect run so deep that should they become public they will have consequences so severe that the United State of America as we know it will be "done" if the Obama Administration is not held to account.

Gautschi says he's used straw and other materials as a covering, yet prefers wood chips because they stay in place and gradually break down to create a nutrient-rich planting medium.

Two passports that are relatively quick and easy to get are those from Uruguay and Paraguay. Both countries are members of the Mercosur group of South American countries, which offers some additional advantages to their nationals.
One of the best, I'm given to understand –and this is constantly changing –is a Singapore passport. I also understand that Singapore has a number of ways to become a citizen in a relatively short period of time.
What are some of the shortcuts to second citizenship?
One of the best is if you have parents or grandparents from a country that will give you citizenship on that basis.
Ireland and Italy are known for this.
It's true, under some circumstances, for the UK as well.
Saint Kitts is a relatively easy place to get a passport quite quickly, but it involves a significant investment that adds up to a couple hundred thousand dollars. Selling IDs is a significant source of income for the island.
The average bandwidth seen in distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks has recently increased by a factor of seven, jumping from 6 Gbps to 48 Gbps.
Furthermore, 10% of DDoS attacks now exceed 60 Gbps.
As DDoS attack sizes increase, so do fears of an Armageddon scenario [link], in which the attack not only disrupts a targeted site, but every site or service provider in between.
According to Prolexic's report, the largest single attack it's mitigated to date occurred in March, when an "enterprise customer" was hit with an attack that peaked at 130 Gbps. While that wasn't equal to the 300 Gbps attack experienced by Spamhaus [link], it still represents well more than most businesses can handle, unless they work with their service provider or third parties to build a better DDoS mitigation defense.
The source of attacks doesn't mean that a country's government or even criminal gangs are directly responsible for launching DDoS campaigns.
For example, the Operation Ababil bank disruption campaign being run by al-Qassam Cyber Fighters [link] relies in part on hacking into vulnerable WordPress servers and installing such DDoS toolkits as "itsoknoproblembro" --aka Brobot [link].
Attackers then use command-and-control servers to issue attack instructions to the toolkits, thus transforming legitimate websites into DDoS launch platforms.

The Australian mint is short of deliverables and Japanese and Chinese gold retailers are seeing a "frenzied" surge in demand.

The panic selling by a weaker 'imminent inflation-based' investor base has sparked physical shortages -"there's been significant sales made as people see this as great value."
Engineers at the University of California, San Diego have invented a "nanosponge" capable of safely removing a broad class of dangerous toxins from the bloodstream, including toxins produced by MRSA, E. Coli, poisonous snakes and bees.
The nanosponges are made of a biocompatible polymer core wrapped in a natural red blood cell membrane.

The batteries owe their high performance to their internal three-dimensional microstructure.
Batteries have two key components: the anode (minus side) and cathode (plus side).
Building on a novel fast-charging cathode design by materials science and engineering professor Paul Braun's group, King and Pikul developed a matching anode and then developed a new way to integrate the two components at the microscale to make a complete battery with superior performance.
With so much power, the batteries could enable sensors or radio signals that broadcast 30 times farther, or devices 30 times smaller.
The batteries are rechargeable and can charge 1,000 times faster than competing technologies – imagine juicing up a credit-card-thin phone in less than a second.
In addition to consumer electronics, medical devices, lasers, sensors and other applications could see leaps forward in technology with such power sources available.
First noted by astroecon whiz Bob Hitt. The idea is simple: When the public is starting to whip itself up into a frenzy over the wrong thing [e.g. the market and the Depression unfolding] all that's needed is a properly sized emotionally impacting event to 'switch the panic off' by, as Hitt explained it back when "…diverting that emotional energy somewhere else…"
Take yesterday – the coincidence of it is undeniable: Market was down more than 200 and the decline speeding up. And worse – from a technical standpoint – the five-minute volume numbers which had been running 2-2.5 million shares (every five minutes), saw a 14-million share dump in the final five minutes. But what happened as the decline looked unstoppable and like it might break even further including perhaps global meltdown? The mysterious explosions in Boston: Three dead, no sign of a perp, but a lot of readers wondering "Why did Wolfer Blitzen ask about a Tea Party member… was this a false flag, or what was that about?"
Two deadly explosions ripped through a crowd at the Boston Marathon on Monday, killing at least three people and injuring about 140, once again raising the specter of terrorism on American soil.
It was only a week ago that Iran was shaken by a major 6.1 earthquake, striking just 100 km away from the Busher nuclear power plant: a location so "opportune" some, so inclined, saw in this phenomenon another demonstration of the HAARP's capabilities.
Those same people will then hardly be surprised to learn that moments ago the entire middle east, from Dubai to Delhi, shook in the aftermath of yet another massive earthquake this time measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, which once again was located as the USGS reports, some 86 km East South East of Khash, Iran.

It may be posturing, it may be imminent.

If we really want to eat low-insulin foods, the first thing to do is look up which foods actually elevate insulin following a meal.
The data, published in a paper titled "An Insulin Index of Foods", may surprise you.
[This paper is free access. - http://m.ajcn.nutrition.org/content/66/5/1264.abstract]
According to the paper, the five lowest-insulin foods tested were (from lowest to highest) peanuts, eggs, bran cereal, white or brown pasta, and grain porridge. Doesn't sound very low carb, does it?

Dr. Steven Greer, founder of the worldwide Disclosure Movement and the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence is working with Emmy award winning filmmaker Amardeep Kaleka and his team at Neverending Light Productions to produce one of the most significant films of our time.
This film exposes the greatest story never told:
The Earth has been visited by people from other worlds who are not malicious, but in fact concerned for the future humanity.
A cabal of military, industrial and financial interests have kept this contact and what we have learned from it secret over 60 years.
Their secrecy is meant to suppress the knowledge that can liberate the world from the yoke of oil, gas, coal and nuclear power and replace the current world order with one of New Energy and true Freedom.

What happened to [Libya's] Mr. Gaddafi, many speculate the real reason he was ousted was that he was planning an all-African currency for conducting trade.

What makes this even more interesting is that at the tail end of the numbers transmission there was a long duration digital transmission as well.
So why is this important and alarming?

Proximate to "data gap."
Although I like to think that an attack on America using EMP devices is an incredibly small percentage-wise possibility, I nevertheless will be putting our home in the outback on 'Faraday-Ready" status Friday of this week due to Clif's data gap and recent events driven by North Korea.
I recognize that the odds of something happening which could impact the US are smaller than even single-digits.
Yet the potential payoff is huge, looking at things the other way.
After all, North Korea's recent mention of Austin, Texas is –to my ears –a clear warning that they have designs on the US power grid.
I don't trust 'em even a tiny bit.
What are they up to this morning?
Well, they are now warning foreigners in South Korea to seek shelter or consider evacuating because the Korean Peninsula is on the brink of nuclear war.

Corpse-filled waterways in China are not exactly a new problem, yet they have attracted heightened attention in recent weeks because of the dumping of more than 16,000 pig carcasses—many of them disease-ridden—into the Huangpu River, which runs through the middle of Shanghai and provides more than a fifth of the city's drinking water.
Farmers also unloaded more than a thousand lifeless ducks into the Nan River in Sichuan province.
The 'New World Order' is no longer a conspiracy.
This week three banks, ING, Rabo and SNS, simultaneously suffered major computer malfunctions, leading to a temporary closure of their on-line facilities.

This was completely unprecedented.
The chances of this being coincidence are close to zero.
For years some in the blogosphere have speculated that 'computer problems' might be a good excuse for the Money Power to call a bank holiday and 'reorganize' their system.
This looks like a drill.
Our friends Dan and Sheila at Surviving Survivalism have made their wildly popular book available for free as an electronic download to anyone who's interested in learning more about what it takes to really live the prepper and survivalist lifestyle.
Like many of us, they lived the suburban life, plugged directly into the system.
They eventually unplugged, relocated to rural America and became self sufficient.
They've built their own home with their bare hands.
They produce their own food.
They do not rely on the system as we know it to survive – at all.
And, they have always been happy to share their knowledge with those looking to get off the grid.
In addition to extensive information and suggestions covering topics that include developing your land, security, food production, alternative power and everything else you might need to know about living a self reliant lifestyle, Dan and Sheila take extra care to explain the reality of going off-grid.

The "anti-drone hoodie" was the central attraction of Harvey's Stealth Wear exhibition, which opened in central London in January, billed as a showcase for "counter-surveillance fashions".
It is a field Harvey has been pioneering for three years now, making headlines in the tech community along the way.
It began in 2010 with Camoflash, an anti-paparazzi handbag that responds to the unwanted camera flashes with a counter-flash of its own, replacing the photograph's intended subject with a fuzzy orb of bright white light.
The bottom line is that the reactors have lost containment.
There are not "some leaks" at Fukushima.
"Leaks" imply that the reactor cores are safely in their containment buildings, and there is a small hole or two which need to be plugged.
But scientists don't even know where the cores of the reactors are.
That's not leaking.
That's even worse than a total meltdown.
A Survival Blog reader in Michigan wrote to chime in with this sign of the times:
"Yesterday I went to our bank here to begin withdrawing excess reserves and was told to come back today.
"While there, a woman queued up at the teller window next to me was upset that they wanted to know what she was planning to do with the $20,000 she was withdrawing.
"My mere $7,500 didn't solicit the same question.
"My teller commented: 'Everyone seems to be taking large amounts all of a sudden.'
"All the employees there seemed bewildered as to why this is happening."

Perhaps to Kim Jong-un the military escalation to nuclear war is only one big joke, but to the US it is increasingly appearing very serious.
And perhaps this is precisely what the Pentagon wanted all along?
Buried in a story published last month about an alleged assassination plot against North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, there was an ominous intelligence report detailing North Korea's "three-stage scenario" to create fear of a nuclear war.
With hindsight, this report is starting to look remarkably prescient.

"During the Korean War, the US indiscriminately used germ and chemical weapons against the Korean people, stunning the world," the CPRK stated on Wednesday.
"The US now seeks to make such crimes against humanity repeat."
As the potential for a globally destabilizing event becomes ever more probable, many concerned Americans are starting to wonder where they'd go if the worst were to happen.
To help answer that question, we can start by identifying the areas of the country to avoid.
The numbers, especially for competitive athletes, are sobering.
According to their calculations, static stretching reduces strength in the stretched muscles by almost 5.5 percent, with the impact increasing in people who hold individual stretches for 90 seconds or more.
While the effect is reduced somewhat when people's stretches last less than 45 seconds, stretched muscles are, in general, substantially less strong.
North Korea has begun moving its mid-range missile launchers, possibly indicating a looming test as tensions are already boiling on the peninsula, U.S. officials told Fox News.
Earlier Thursday, South Korea said North Korea moved a missile with "considerable range" to its east coast after an unnamed spokesman for the North Korean army warned the U.S. Wednesday that its military has been cleared to wage an attack using "smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear" weapons.
At first, we were preppers.
We made sure we had extra water on hand and a bit of extra food - just in case.
Soon, we were buying food in bulk, stocking up on reloading components and packing "bug-out" bags.
From there, we progressed to communication systems, water purification and fuel storage.
By now we had become full-fledged survivalists.
And then, little by little, our focus began to change.
No matter what happens in the near future, it is important for Americans to always question the true motives behind any event and ask ourselves who,in the end, truly benefited.

Williams notes, "The big problem is the government is insolvent in the long term."
Williams says the U.S. dollar could start selling off in May because of a deadlock in Congress on the budget.
Williams predicts, "The global markets are looking for the U.S. to address its long term sovereign solvency issues.
That's not going to happen. . . .
In response, it's going to be off to the races with a dollar sell-off.
That could be the trigger for the early stages of hyperinflation."
