PHOTO: Fishing Camp, Rapidan River in Virginia, Shenandoah National Park

Herbert Hoover fished—the Chesapeake Bay, the salmon rivers of the Canadian Maritimes, the bonefish flats of the Caribbean.

But no place pleased him more than the Rapidan River in Virginia, where he built a fishing camp on the slopes of Doubletop Mountain, in what is now the Shenandoah National Park.
