75-year-old cartoonist Kurt Westergaard and his 5-year-old granddaughter are alive tonight thanks to police and a safe room installed in Westergaard's house.
On New Year's evening, a would-be ax murderer tried to enter the home of the artist, who had his granddaughter on a sleepover.
Danish police shot and seriously wounded the intruder when he turned his ax on an officer. The assailant is reported to have close relations to the Somali terrorist group, Al Shabab, and Al Qaeda leaders in eastern Africa.
It appears that Mr. Westergaard remains a prime target for Muslim psychos nearly five years after he drew a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban.
Hopefully Westergaard's little girl has not been irreparably traumatized by the Somali hatchet man. What a way to begin 2010. [source]

Ritual murder, human sacrifice and blood offerings to Allah the moon-demon.
“Those minutes were horrible,” Westergaard told The Guardian. But he remains defiant. “I do not see myself as a particularly brave man. If the country was occupied, I don’t think I would be running around doing sabotage; I would be sitting somewhere doing my drawings. But it is not right that you are threatened for doing your job ... I won’t stand for it.” -- Times Online
