Solar Cooking

Solar Cooking - Want To Try?

John Grandinetti, a solar contractor out of Honolulu, demonstrates his unique solar oven design. This isn't his first foray into the solar cooking/pasteurization field. He also has created similar devices for the purpose of pasteurizing water in the late 90's for third world installations in Tanzania and Guatemala. Keep up the good work John.

You too can cook for free with the power of the sun. Here are some simple oven plans that you can build at home and use even on a cloudy day: Solar Cookers: How to Make, Use, and Enjoy (also in French) 3.95 MB PDF

At 400 degrees, the video design does not seem hot enough to convert into a smoker. :(

Wood chips need 395 to 595 degrees to smoke and ignite at 535 to 935 degrees.
